Established in 1967 Founded in 1967 as one of the first Head Start programs in Orange County, OCPT has a rich tradition of caring for children and their families. The children we serve are the most vulnerable and at-risk of school failure and chronic health conditions due to poverty, special educational needs, homelessness and foster care status. With funding from Orange County Head Start, California Department of Education, United Way and County of Orange Social Services Agency, we have made a lasting impact on tens of thousands of children and their families. The best way to end the cycle of poverty is to focus resources on the largest population living in poverty: children. This has been the cornerstone of the Head Start Program - providing comprehensive services to preschool children and their families, targeting children's health, educational and social needs, and supporting each family in their role as a child's primary teacher.
